WHY CHOOSE VERROX?
Developed by Tricentris, VERROX allows, among other things, to increase concrete durability while actively participating in the reduction of adverse environmental impacts. VERROX is a cement additive that distinguishes itself by its pozzolanic properties conferred by its high level of amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO2).
An alternative solution to deposit programs, VERROX allows to recycle and add value to glass by manufacturing this cement additive. Its use in sidewalks and roadsides is unquestionably THE sensible solution.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
reduction of air
To freeze-thaw cycles
A better-performing concrete
By replacing 20 to 30% of cement by VERROX, you will obtain remarkable performances:
- Significant increase in compressive strength for the medium-term
- Up to 20% of workability improvement (grouting)
- Up to 4.5 increase in concrete imperviousness to chlorine ion
A greener concrete
- Reduction of greenhouse-gas production
- Local product and only cement additive available in Quebec
- Natural resources’ replacement with a post-consumer product that is valued and recycled
A cement additive that distinguishes itself
- Naturally white material
- More favourable price than cement
COMPLYING WITH CSA STANDARDS
Verrox complies with the CSA A3004-E1 protocol.
The preferred option from an environmental point of view
Using VERROX helps earn LEED® points! It is stable, amorphous and does not contain volatile organic compounds. Its recycled content reduces the impacts resulting from the extraction and processing of virgin materials; its white colour allows to reduce heat island effects; and its proximity to its source of supply facilitates the use of local resources, while reducing environmental impacts caused by transportation.

Tricentris, a leader
Tricentris has always been a key player in the management of recyclable materials. Adding value to glass has been, since 2002, a major concern for the company. Therefore, it was natural and strategic that Tricentris would embark on the next phase, the processing of glass.
Since 2004, the work carried out by the Chaire de recherche en valorisation du verre dans les matériaux (Groupe béton) of the University of Sherbrooke has allowed to demonstrate the potential of the glass powder use as cement additive. The work: study of glass powder and aggregates mixes in concrete and concrete laboratory and in situ testing.
With the opening of its glass-micronization plant, Tricentis now produces the VERROX glass powder in industrial quantities. Manufactured from recovered glass, it offers a new way to add value to this material while producing a high-performance cement additive.
The cement additive VERROX, developed by Tricentris, offers an array of possibilities. Whether you have to undertake a project where the sustainability is an essential, the LEED® certification is your objective or that you want to let your creativity take over, VERROX must be part of your plan.
